Q. How long have you been trading?
A. Since 2003.

Q. Where do you get your email lists from?
A. Our lists are generated from responses to email marketing
campaigns, fax campaigns, tele-marketing campaigns, pay per click advertising campaigns, price comparison websites and affiliate marketing campaigns.

Q. Can I take a look at the email lists before buying?
A. Sure, just use the Data Maker demonstration account here.

Q. Are these lists just full of generic email addresses like "Info@" and "sales@"?
A. No, over 85% of the email addresses contained are direct contact emails, such as "david.brown@company.co.uk" and our Data Maker system also gives you the option to remove generic email addresses from your created lists.

Q. Do you guarantee that all these email addresses are deliverable?
A. No, we check and clean our files on a constant basis, meaning that every time we run a campaign, we clean our lists for bounces and unsubscribe requests. However we cannot
guarantee that the software that you are using to send, or the IP address that you are sending from, these factors are out of our control. Our current bounce rate for these lists is less than 10%.

 

Q. Why are these lists so cheap, I've been quoted much higher rates from other list providers?
A. Two points here, first our email lists are a by-product of our main marketing activities so therefore we can afford to sell them at a reduced cost online. Second, we see list sales as an entry level product to email marketing and many of our customers who buy our lists return with high value email marketing campaigns.

Q. Do you provide bespoke list counts?
A. Yes, with Data Maker you can build and run counts online.

Q. How many times can I use these lists?
A. Your use is un-restricted for a 12 month period. After that, you will need to contact us to re-new.

Q. Do you seed and track the use of these lists?
A. Yes, the list will contain tracking email addresses which will show us any un-authorised use of our lists.

Q. Can I re-sell these lists?
A. No.

Q. What format do the lists come in?
A. Microsoft Excell/CSV.

Q. How are they delivered?
A. With Data Maker your email lists will be saved to your account for future download.

Q. I've opened the list up in Microsoft Excel and the telephone numbers don't have any zero's at the start, why is this?
A. It's not our fault! Microsoft Excel by default treats all cells as a "Text" field and therefore sees the leading zero of a phone number as having no value and ignores it. Easy way to fix it is to set the property of the telephone number field to Numeric.

Q. Do you guarantee the additional information suppliedwith the email address file such as the telephone numbers?
A. Sorry but no, additional information are supplied on an "As is" basis.

Q. How do you clean and maintain the email lists within Data Maker?
A. All our email data is centrally maintained, so every time we send an email campaign (Of which we run hundreds each month for different clients) all data issues such as "Unsubscribe's" and "Bounces" are reported back and cleaned against the Mailpaq™ file. At the same time new users who request quotes and prices via our price comparison websites such as Three Plus and Compareo are added to the relevant data sections of Data Maker.

Q. Are the lists OPT-IN?
A. No, all our lists are supplied on an OPT-OUT basis only.

Q. Do you sell consumer email lists?
A. No business lists only, but there is nothing to stop you sending consumer offers to business people, we're all consumer after all.
